Read all 3 by Aug 2 ...

I finished reading 'twilight' and 'new moon'. I am going to start reading 'eclipse' this week and can't wait for Aug 2 for the new book of the series -- 'breaking dawn'. I am a slow reader but still I can't put it down when I read. I usually do it at night which has caused some lack of sleep lately. I carry the book with me wherever I go. This past week, I went camping to Yellowstone National Park and I would read in the tent or in the car using a flashlight at night. (BTW, later I will post pictures from lots of fun outdoor stuf I did lately). Otherwise, I wouldn't have finished 'new moon'. One of my friends on the trip has read all 3 books and understand my thirst to keep reading. When they call me out to go do something, I would say 'one more chapter or let me finish this chapter' and they were cool about it.
I have been feeding my brain with vampires and werewolves stories these past few days, and of course humans too. Ha, ha, ha!
These books are sooooo good though!

Reading 'twilight'

I am now into vampire stories. I am reading 'twilight' and guess what? I got sucked in. It seems weird to have time to read books now as I am free from school. I can't recall the last time when I read a normal book I actually enjoy. All I have been reading for the past 5 years is boring school books (besides my scriptures of course). I wish I had a choice not to read those. I mean the school books. It paid off though.
Anyway, I have heard about the new movie --'TWILIGHT' a type of Harry Potter but not quite that is coming out in December. The movie is from a series of book of whom the author is Stephenie Meyer (btw, a graduate from BYU :-). The first one titled 'twilight' was published 3 years ago. This is the one I am reading at the moment. 2 other books --'new moon' and 'eclipse' have been published and the next one 'breaking dawn' will be next month. I usually watch the movie first and decide if I want to read the book. Of course, I never read any of the book after I saw the movie. To my suprise, I am reading 'twilight'. I can't put it down; I started 2 nights ago and I am cruising. I have other stuff to do but when I am free, I am back into the book. I bet I will finish by tomorrow.
My roommate Lyndsi is the one who got me into this. She is now reading the second one 'new moon'. She was reading it all last week while we were on a river trip to Jackson Hole. We were with bunch of people. In one of the nights we were there, she asked me to take a picture of a boy from our group who has a vampire looking figure. It didn't occur to me until she pointed him to me. He is handsome, I must admit. I did take the picture but it turned out blurry so that may explain something strange about him. LOOOL!
I guess what your read feeds your mind. I bet if Lyndsi wasn't reading 'twilight' at the time, she wouldn't have pictured this boy like that. I too now think of vampire and I was curious to know who'd play Edward's role in the movie. I looked it up and I am not satisfied 100% but we will see. I can't wait for the movie to come out which I will already know the end by then.

The indelible bug bite

I finally went to have my arm checked. This is the story behind it ...
I went to California to do a service volunteer project back in March (yes in March) and on my way back to Utah I realized that I was bitten by something on my upper right arm. It was itchy and irritating but I got over it; however it wouldn't heal. I remember one night few weeks later when I got home, this thing was ready to pop out after all. It needed some force to pinch it so I did. It hurt so I wasn't sure if pinching it was the right thing. Thanks to my roommate Lyndsi who is a nurse. She helped me get the "disgusting, hard , weird looking passy "(not sure if that's how you'd spell that) out and disinfect it. We got a lot of stuff out of there; I kept them in some cotton balls. Ewwww!!! I did actually because I hoped a doctor would want to see what was inside my poor delicate arm. Lyndsi told me to go to the Dr anyway to make sure that we got everything out and that it didn't get infected. I called the University Health Center the next day and explained what happened. I spoke to a Dr and she wasn't quite helpful. She basically didn't want me to bring in the cotton balls in a very rude way so I hang up while I was put on hold to confirm the appointment. Then I never went to have it checked. In my mind, it was okay; I thought Lyndsi and I got it all out. But nope !!!
This is what it looked like after I got bitten in March.
Days and months went by and my arm didn't look like it's been healing. The rush was still there and it felt like there are things growing inside. Some days it would still itch and look bad, other days, it was okay so I didn't bother. I noticed this thing is so visible in most pictures of mine taken since April. People would also ask me all the time what happened with my arm. Finally I decided yesterday that I need to have it checked before things aren't recoverable anymore. I called the Health Center to make an appointment. So I went and the Nurse actually took a good care of me. She cut it and got the stuff out. She warned me that this thing may grow back if the bug or whatever it is has built a home in there . If that's the case, she will send me to a Surgeon to go deeper with the cut. I hope not! So we will see in a couple of weeks. See I hate going to the Dr because they always tell you some scary things about your body. Also, I am allergic to pennicillin but they gave me some antibiotics that has pennicillin in it. They said it should be okay. I did take some and I seem okay!!! And my favorite part is at the pharmacy when the man at the counter handed me the antibiotics. He said, "This may cause you have diarhea so be ready." Yea, right?
Today after the Dr's appointment
the story will continue ...

Jenny and Brent tied the knot ...

Brent and Jenny
Temple -- symbol of eternity

One of my good friends Jenny got married on July 5 (I can't believe it's been more than a week now). I knew Jenny while in Madagascar serving her mission. We became very good friends since then. I came to Utah to go to BYU before she finished her mission, but then she also got accepted to BYU after her mission. We were roommates for most of the time I attended BYU. Jenny was the one who helped me adjust to some of the western culture. For instance, the big one was to have the guts to ask guys out for fun. I would have never had the courage to do it if I weren't with Jenny. I remember we would take a few deep breath while the phone is ringing. I still recall the feeling of my stomach being sick while dialing the numbers. Those were good times! and believe me, the boys loved it too.

I am so happy to see her in the arms of the man of her dream. Brent is an awesome guy. Just for the record, Brent was the one who asked Jenny out first :-)

I HATE credit cards offer!

I don't usually receive any letter in the mail except friends' wedding invitation I already knew about it. I do everything such as paying phone bills, reviewing bank statement etc ... online. Still, I receive a lot of credit cards offer in the mail. I HATE them. It's so frustrating because I receive it from the same company over and over again. At least I receive 3 or 4 of them every week. Some of them are so tricky that they send it in a nice envelope without the name of the sender hoping you'd open it right away. I can't tell you how many times I have been fooled and opened them and then get disappointed. Others have the convincing statement like "D... YOU ARE PRE-APPROVED..." on the envelope. They make the letters so big and colorful. But I am more careful now and anything that looks suspicious will go directly to the recycling paper bag we have without opening them.
I'd like to know why they keep sending me these offers. A possible reason maybe that I have a good credit score (why is this available for them to see anyway?) This has been going on for at least 3 years and I have never called them back or given in. If I were interested, they would have heard back from me by now. Don't they get the message -- I am not interested!!!
It's like in the world of dating (I can' believe I am bringing this up). If a guy/girl wants to go out with someone and initiate something (calling, texting, talking ...) but too little or no response at all, they usually give up because they automatically get the message that there is no interest. I wish these credit card company understood that too. I wish they kept track of who hasn't responded and would stop wasting ink and paper to protect the environment.
So I found out something online after digging a bit to stop this. I can go to this website and make my credit score not available to these companies/opt-out from receiving these offers.
This is the link https://www.optoutprescreen.com/. We will see if it stops it.
I also found another website http://www.greendimes.com/ to stop receiving junk mail and stuff. I will use these two to see if it works. I have done some research these 2 are pretty legitimate.
