I guess love was really in the air this summer. Many of my close friends got hitched :-)

a humanitarian in Mexico

I got to go on a small humanitarian trip to Mexico 2 weeks ago through an organization called "A Child's Hope Foundation", they are also on facebook here. I had an amazing experience! We helped demolish an old building to make space for a playground at an orphanage called "Door of Faith". We also donated some school supplies to other orphanages like Casa De Paz and Buena Vida. And of course, playing with the orphans left me vulnerable and humble. They taught be the simple meaning of life.

They both succeeded :-) Our group of single adults who went. It was an awesome trip!

Ramblings ...

I have so much to write about ... I don't know where to start.

1. I am so stressed about work. I am writing a small grant that is due on Thursday. It's coming along and I just want to submitit but there is still stuff I need to add and work on. And I hope we'll get it so that we can serve more teens in our community.
2. I was invited to a dinner tonight and was surprised to see a boy I was kind of start dating not too long ago was there too. Sometime during the dinner, someone pointed out he was dating one of the girls on the table. Ouch, that hurt! We stopped talking to each other about 2 or 3 weeks ago. People move on fast I guess. I'll get over it.
3. I baked a coffee cake this morning and it turned out to be good. I ate it for breakfast and took the rest to the dinner party. The boy said he loves coffee cake. ha,ha,ha!
4. I called my mom even though it's not mother's day at home. She told me she wants me to come visit and she will help me with the ticket so there is big chance I'll travel far this year which I am excited for big time.
5. I started reading a book written by an LDS author -- Gerald Lund called Divine Signature, The confirming Hand of God. I love it! it reminds me that God does love his children, even me.
6. I played a joke on one of my staff. I wrote on his facebook wall that he is fired. He called me on a Sunday morning to re-assure if I was serious. I told him I was kidding but the reason why I wrote that was because he tagged me on a picture of some naked asian little boys.
7. I helped one of my friends to pick a dress to her for her friend's wedding. We only took like 34 minutes to find a store that has a cute dress and pick one. She also spent less than $34.00
8. It was too hot in my room last night; tonight, it's chilly again.

Life is interesting, but it's worth living it.

Easter ...

General Conference

Below is a beautiful picture of the Salt Lake Temple on Sunday, April 3 during General Conference. It's that time of the year where Salt Lake City is full of people attending the LDS Church Conference. I look forward to this time as I get to interpret and also listen to the powerful messages from the leaders of our Church. It was a time for restropecting and refining. It was another good one! End of Winter 2011

I did enjoy winter. It was a good season with a snowboarder's point of view. I went 6 times at Brighton through the CHILL program at work. I went to the Canyons once with the Warren Miller movie pass and I went to Park City for just $25 day pass through my Ward. Look at all this powder. Here is a little video of the awesomeness of Utah typical snow powder.

I didn't want this to be my first post of 2011 ... My first car wreck :-(

It happened 2 nights ago after my work out at the gym. This guy suddenly stopped in front of me and before I realized it, I already hit him from the rear. My fault! His car was okay, just a scratch on his bumper. He may need to replace the whole thing.

Now, I have to say I hate insurance. What's the purpose of having one if you don't get into an accident, then if you get into one, they still don't help you that much.

Also I now realize how much cars are so helpful. I can't go anywhere.
