Surviving the ECOLOGY class

Watch the bee!
I am very stressed about this course I have to take this week. It's called 'field ecology' and it's Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. -4:30 p.m. We spend time outside studying plants and other species. Maybe it shouldn't be that bad, but it is really kicking my butt. Most of my classmates are all guru with the subject as they are all environmental studies major. They look at a plant and they can key it right away. I have to flip the pages over and over and figure out what they were talking about. This is the first time I have ever taken an Ecology class. I am not very familiar with the different terms they use and I don't have a great patience.

But hey, it's gonna be okay. I care about the environment and this is going to teach me more about it. In fact, here are a couple of quotes I really like:

"The major problems in the world are the result of the difference how nature works and the way people think." Gregory Bateson
"The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe, the less taste we shall have for destruction." Rachel Carson
